In the winter of 1983, at the Loyola College (Maryland), Mt. Saint Mary's basketball team, a nameless friend of mine sat behind the visiting team bench.
This guy was not huge, but was a lacrosse player, and tough as nails. He had a "few" beers and begins to heckle the entire Mounty squad from close range.
Things got heated, fists were thrown, and the entire court is filled, as both teams, and most of the fans mucked it up on the court.
Full scale riot.
It was a scene straight out of a cartoon. I am thinking Tasmanian Devil, with just clouds of guys swinging away.
I stayed in the stands with a couple of my buds (we were all smallish, and wanted to savour the show). It was probably one of the very best brawls ever.
Odd thing, though, nothing ever came out in the papers.

Editors Note:
Are you sure it was the best brawl ever.
